About the brand.
“Allies keep their promises”
It was the story behind the brand that caught my attention.
With a back-to-basics attitude, the brand was created by Nicolas Travis, who suffering with his own problematic skin, found it extremely difficult to desipher all the jargon within the skincare industry.
Therefore, Nicolas decided to create his own simple line of products that would suit all skin types and break through the ‘noise’ surrounding the beauty industry.
I may have mentioned the words basic and simple to describe this brand however the products are anything but basic.

What do you need to know?
- What is it used for: An ideal morning cleanser or an evening second cleanse.
- Consistency and Texture: The cleanser is a gel that is peach in colour. When worked into dry skin it becomes more of a light cream texture. When water is added to emulsify you are left with a milky residue that rinses away easily.
- Does it play nice with other products: Absolutely.
- Smelly?: Nope, it just smells clean.
- Non-Comedogenic?: Yep. This cleanser will not clog your pores.
- Any Irritation?: Not a bean. The formulation is beautiful and does not include any silicones, sulfates, drying alcohol, retiniyl palimate, synthetic dyes, synthetic fragrances, and essential oils. So basically, anything that could possibly irritate the skin has not been included.

- Basically everyone in the whole world should use this cleanser!
Is there a cheaper alternative?
Absolutely not. It is one of a kind.
Is it worth the money?
A thousand times yes.
What do we think?
Well, let me tell you how obsessed I am with this cleanser.
I have never been too concerned with what ingredients my cleanser contains. So long as it doesn’t contain any harsh or irritating ingredients, it will do.
A cleanser after all, is only on your skin for a minute or two before it is rinsed away. So why bother worrying about whether it contains lots of great ingredients?
I just need it to wash my face.
However, I have seen so many reviews on the Allies Of Skin Molecular Silk Amino Hydrating cleanser, so I thought sod it. Let’s give it a whirl.
The ingredients list is impressive, including:
- Silk Amino Acids and Licorice Root Extract: Both powerful antioxidants.
- Organic Safflower and Moringa Oils: Hydrate, nourishing, and repair.
I was intrigued to discover if a cleanser could actually make that much of a difference to my skincare routine or my complexion.
Well, I have never used anything like this before!
The wonderful Susan Yara (if you do not follow her on Instagram you need to) posted a great video using this, where she advised, once you have massaged the cleanser into your skin, leave it to sit there for a few minutes. This made total sense to me as you are giving your skin the opportunity to soak up all of the wonderful ingredients.
This is exactly how I use it.
Now here comes the selling point. This cleanser does not make my skin feel the slightest bit tight or dry. Probably due to the fact that it has been made at the perfect PH level for our skin. However, I have never, not experienced a little tightness.
My mind was blown.
In addition, my complexion looked brighter and more even.
After a few days of use, the hormonal breakout going to town on my chin had diminished. My complexion looked plump and healthy.
Therefore, the answer is YES. A cleanser can completely transform your skincare routine and your complexion.
I really don’t think I could ever be without it.
