What is it?
The Dr. Barbara Sturm Super Anti-Aging Serum, is in fact, an anti-aging serum. However, is it super? Priced at £270 for a 30ml bottle, I should blo*dy hope so! Grab yours via the link below.
About the brand.
Before we get into this I need to state right now that I may have a slight girl crush on the amazing Dr. Sturm.
Ok, now that’s out in the open I will proceed.
Dr. Sturm is an Aesthetics doctor who started her career in Orthopedics, where she spent a lot of time working on formulas to help with inflammation. It is this research and expertise that Dr. Sturm has utilised to provide an extremely impressive skincare line.
With a clear focus on anti-inflammatory ingredients, AKA her own magical ingredient cocktail named Purslane.
I have not got a clue exactly what ingredients are used to make said cocktail as it’s a secret! However, what I do know is it contains a bunch of antioxidants, anti-aging properties, and anti-inflammatories.
Basically, all of the Anti’s!
What does the brand have to say?
“This potent concentrate is an anti-aging cocktail, packed with active antioxidant ingredients to nourish the skin while visibly reducing the appearance of irritation and fine lines and wrinkles.”
“The serum helps to replace the skin’s moisture reservoirs using both low and high molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid molecules. Formulated with special extracts of Skullcap and Purslane, an anti-aging powerhouse, which helps calm the skin and reduce the visible signs of irritation.”
What do you need to know?
- What is it used for: To reduce the visible signs of aging whilst also providing a hydrating and glowing boost.
- Consistency and Texture: Super lightweight, none sticky, with a little slip for ease of application.
- Does it play nice with other products: Absolutely. No issues to report.
- Smelly?: Nope. Just doesn’t smell of anything. At all.
- Non-Comedogenic?: Yep. This will not clog your pores.
- Likely to irritate?: Not a chance.
Who is it for?
- Suitable for all skin types.
- Specifically ideal for anyone looking for a bit of a different anti-aging approach.
- Especially great for sensitive skin types.
Is there a cheaper alternative?
Ab-so-lutely!
Is it worth the money?
I don’t think so.
What do we think?
If this is the only Dr. Barbara Sturm serum you have ever tried then I believe you may like it.
However, I have had the pleasure of trying several and for me this just does not compare.
It is a brilliant serum but I cannot stop thinking about the price.
I have used other brilliant serums at a fraction of the cost.
If money is no issue for you and you fancy treating yourself then go for it. The cocktail of ingredients is potent yet gentle, the texture is beautiful and it will really help with protecting your skin’s barrier.
For me, I will stick with my Dr. Barbara Sturm Glow Drops thank you very much.
Top Tip.
If you are interested in trying the Dr. Barbara Sturm line, I highly recommend you try the Glow drops instead. You are still getting some of the innovative skincare ingredients however, at a lower price point. I have a full review of the glow drops here for more information.
